I am at a point again, on whether to choose either an Asus A8N-SLi Premium, Abit Fatal1ty AN8 SLi or any other good SLi alternative. I have seen the difference in price range between them two where the Asus is £120 and the Abit is £90. I was always going to go with the asus (and still thinking I should) but I would have to wait under a month to get it (Actually im sure I could) and at this time I can only afford the Abit but I will wait a month if i have to. Please post your opinions and I'll make up my mind Regards, Chris EDIT: Oh my specs: Case: Just a temporary one PSU: Antec True Power 2.0 480W Blue LED CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2GHz Motherboard: Deciding RAM: Corsair XMS PC3200 512MB - Bought HDD: 160GB Western Digital Caviar - Bought CD Drive: LG GCE8527BL 52x32x52x CD-RW Internal IDE (Black) - OEM DVD Drive: LG GSA-4167BAL 16x DVD±RW Dual Layer Internal IDE (Black) - OEM Vid. personnally i think you would be fine just getting the normal or deluxe Asus SLI also i have heard of alot of issues with the fatality MoBo. Guys correct me if im wrong.
Sounds good, i have found this ASUS SOCKET 939 A8N-SLI SOUND/LAN SLI HT would there be lots of difference between that and the premium?
The Premium version has a heatpipe setup on the nForce 3 SLI chip instead of the fan. I've not seen or heard of anything in terms of performance that changes between the two boards. The Premium version might have some extra accessories in the packaging, but the motherboard--save the cooling differences--is the same thing.
I've decided, I will just wait less than a month, and the get some of the money from my birthday and buy the Premium. Then I can buy the graphics card and some other bits. Thanks peeps, Chris
