Its doing its own thing again!!

    Fault bucket 126833367.
The device, \Device\Harddisk1\D, is not ready for access yet.

Its not done this before and my cpu is not overheating. all drivers and the bios updated but this has not corrected the problem!!

Oh yeah, the problem is my machine is restarting randomly. its been said to me about RAM. if any you guys think this could be a contributing factor then please tell me how to confirm this and or what tests to complete before i make a mk1 lump hammer test. Cheer ladies and gents, linedog

Uhh are yu sure you don't have the blaster worm? If it says its RAM its probably not but its worth a check. You can download AVG free anti virus from here http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_index.php

Besides a virus or other malicious software, you might want to run some diagnostic programs on the hard drive. If you didn't get a floppy or CD with the drives, you can download them from whoever made your hard drive(s).

It does sorta sound like a possible memory issue as well, and you can check it with Memtest 86. You can download it for a floppy disk or download an .iso file to burn to a bootable CD.

    Ta Big B & 01

Didnt detect any viral or malicious code issues (norton 2005) and tried memtest86 and err well

test 7 after 3 sweeps produced 169818 faults on chan count 1. so its RAM..
Right Thanks for helping identify the problem for me (Believe i could not do it by myself) But out of the 2 RAM cards i got i still need help identifying which one to pull arrrgghhh, i dont want to risk pulling one at a time. please help please please please.

Also i got a new error now...
The pipe state is invalid on several items in the event viewer..
    What does it all mean

Ps without idiots like me, wisdom would be meaningless

hi m8, take one of your ram modules out with your computer turned off. turn it on if it works the one is is the unfaulty one and the one out as broke, if the one in doesn't work than the one out is ok. if the one in as boke replace it with your system turned off with the one you believe to be unfaulty then start it back up if this still doe'nt work try clearing your cmos via a jumper usually located near a small battery (bios batt.) but look in your motherboard manuel first, one you have found your cmos jumper move it across for bou 5 second then back (never do this with the computer running!).
If after all this the problem still reamains then it could be your motherboard in this case try and see if you can try the ram in another computer, it is unlikey that both modules will go like that. hope this helps Dave.

P.S When removing ram or touching any component either wear an anti static strap or make sure your computer is plugged on but not burned on at the wall and touch your case, this will earth the static electricity in you therefore when you touch any components they will not break.

    Cheers Dave

Tried both RAM cards on my other pc and both seemed to work just fine, so i tried the cmos and i reset all the values and added a bit to the ram 2.6 i think and it worked out ok (touch wood) system stable without restart for about 5 hours now and thats about 4 hours 58 mins longer than usual.

Thanks Dave and to Big B and 01 for your help.

Ps hope everybody part of this excellent forum enjoys there holidays..

    Thanks once again, linedog
