I have recently moved to an awesome Apple laptop from my PC that I built about two years ago to play games on. The reason I moved is because I found an unbeatable deal on a Powerbook G4 and I havent had the time to play as many games as I used to. That is another story in itself. Anyhow I have a bunch of videos, TV shows, movies and MP3s on my PC. My current plan is to turn the desktop into a server. The problem is I do not know which OS to install on it? I basically will use it for storing videos and MP3s when I am on the road. In addition I want to connect to my PC with my Powerbook to and download any TV show or any other video/MP3 thats on my PC directly to my Mac. Here are the specs of the PC: ASUS A8N-SLI Dlx AMD Athlon x2 4400+ 2 GB Corsair XMS Nvidia Geforce 7800GT 250 GB SATA 150 GB SATA Wireless G Any help on what would be the best operating system to install for what i want to use it for? I have thought about just using like XP with an FTP server but im still not sure. Thanks for everyones help.

New Server OS???? Are you planning on downloading these tv shows through the internet, or a local network?
New Server OS???? Im going to be downloading movies/tv/mp3s through the internet to my PC. I will also connect to my PC from my mac Via internet aswell. Although sometimes when I am at my apartment I will be connecting to my PC through my local network.
New Server OS???? Unless you have a really high capacity line with upload speeds of 10mbits/sec then I don't think its feasible.
