Seriously, who puts static sensitive stuff (ESPECIALLY RAM - ONE OF THE MOST STATIC SENSITIVE THINGS IN A COMPUTER) on a carpet, you then pushed it around, oh dear oh dear...

You don't even use an anti-static wrist-strap or touch the case to ground yourself and get rid of stored static in your body, that's just asking for trouble...

Also when talking about thermal paste you say spread it with whatever you like, don't use your finger (you should have mentioned that for people who don't know) because the grease / oils from your skin can be left on the paste and hinder heat transfer...
