The idea of this thread is to find decent web sites for your home page/s i have the following as my home pages (in tabs) slashdot [ /. ] - http://slashdot.org harwdare forums subscribed posts - http://www.harwdareforums.com/subscription.php the daily WTF - http://thedailywtf.com/Default.aspx [OT] If you want to speed things up a bit, substitute www. name.com or name.com for the IP address of the site, for example, slashdot becomes http://66.35.250.150 This means your browser doesnt have to get a name resolution for your home page/s when it starts (My ISP's DNS servers are :swear:, i need to get around to changing them / setting up my own local DNS) [/OT]
i thought ping was only used to verify an internet connection well, actually, the price of fish is always raising as is inflation, & inflation is directly conected to the bank of englands base interest rate which is responsible for the pricing of everything including fish [ot]bet you wish you never asked, LOL [/ot]
I have 2 homepages: Hardwareforums and Google Mail. I also have lots more pages that I check just as often as homepages... and yes, one is MySpace, that's because some friends I can only keep in touch with through that...
Yep, Google here too. But ive got Hardware Forums, Fanatsy Football League, Slahdot, Ebay, Bandit Alley Forums and AV Forums as shortcuts next to latest news in Firefox. http://www.hardwareforums.com/ Fantasy Premier League - a Fantasy Football Game for the Barclays Premiership Slashdot: News for nerds, stuff that matters eBay UK - The UK's Online Marketplace BanditAlleyBBS :: Index AV Forums (though I only post in the Entertainment Computers & Components part)
Haha, homepages; unless there's something in a browser I don't know about, multiple homepages is a creation of IE7. Would anyone care to explain the point in multiple homepages when we had favorites and a single startup homepage anyway? :O Btw, mine is Google UK.
Firefox allowed multiple homepages before IE7 - Firefox came out with lots of things that IE7 then copied, IE7 has nothing new...it sucks.
it means i can have Slashdot and my subscribed threads from hardware forums opened when i start Firefox, so i can choose which to do first without having to type the addresses of both... i've moved thedailywtf to an RSS feed
