Hi, I'm looking for some SO-DIMM memory for my notebook, and was advised that it is best (in the case of an upgrade) that the chips are from the same manufacturer (Hynix, Elpida etc). Does anyone know what company makes DDR3-1333 SO-DIMMs using Samsung chips?

    Cheerio,
    Nicholas.

with limited research It seems actual Samsung brand memory and Super Talent brand are currently using samsung chips. Both seem to have reasonable prices, which kind of surprised me, in the past Apple recomended memory was over priced.

As far as experience goes, Apple notebooks seem to only play nice with Hynix chips. Others tend to cause kernel panics and the like. Anyway, is it important to have all modules in the notebook of the same chip manufacturer or is it sufficient to have them of same speed and capacity?
