    Hi people

I was having this debate with my friend about which one of these memory below was better in terms of performance:

    G.Skill 4GB DDR2 PK PC2-8500C5:

    - CAS Latency : 5-5-5-15
    - Speed : DDR2 1066MHz (PC2-8500)
    - Test Voltage : 2.0-2.1 V

    OR

Crucial Ballistix Tracer RED 4GB PC2-6400C4:

    - CAS Latency : 4-4-4-12
    - Speed: DDR2-800MHz (PC2- 6400)
    - Voltage: 2.2V

I would say that the Crucial Ballistix is better, what do you think guys?

generally speaking lower CAS Latency = better memory, but, personally i will only buy Corsair Value Select RAM
i agree, the test voltage just mean the voltage the RAM was tested with, so, i don't think it means anything

Well it depends on how you look at it. The G Skill runs at 1066mhz with higher timming but at only 2.0/2.1 voltage. The Crucial only runs at 800mhz with better/lower timming but uses 2.2 voltage to do it. If you bumped the G Skill down to 800MHZ you could probably get better timming at a lower voltage than the Curcial. And I doubt the Crucial would overclock to 1066mhz with good timming since it takes 2.2 volts just at 800mhz
