Ok guys, im stuck between one of these to MoBos, and price isnt really the matter, i just wanna know, which one is the better one?

    Newegg.com - ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

    Or

Newegg.com - ASUS Striker Extreme LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX The Ultimate Gaming Motherboard - Retail

and im pretty sure that my GPU is compatible, but just to be sure. its an EVGA Nvidia GeForce 8800GTS (G92) 512MB

Not necissarily without hesitation. And you linked two mobos with two different chipsets. If you are a pasionate overclocker get the mobo with the p35 chipset. If you want to SLI two nvidia video card get the 680i chipset board. Just be warned the Striker is nice on paper, but has had ALOT of very well documented issues. Moreso than most boards.

concerning performance striker extreme knocks out x38 while gaming no need for sli it is just enough for general using

btw geforce 9 series is on the way so 8 series cards will be cheaper and sli is probable too

I have not seen any comparisons between the 680i Striker and a x38/p35 board, but I do know that the latter chipsets will out perform a 680i.

we just checked it in real life man that's why i'm suggesting it

asus striker extreme and msi x38 diamond were the guests of my cousin :D striker is his, diamond is another friend's

what we found out is the same cpus (e6850) and same gpus (leadtek 8800gts) performed much better in striker's machine no cooling problems, ram cas latencies and frequencies were the same

for unreal tournament 3, striker was 11fps better among diamond at 1280x1024 with 4xaa and 8xaf

for crysis they were close to each other but striker was 4fps faster again

and as i know he haven't seen any problems yet with the striker extreme
