Hi, I want to buy a used (second hand) monitor(21" flat screen) from market. Kindly tell me that which things i can check while buying this used monitor. kindly help me in this regard eshban
Well first the condition it's in, make sure the pins on the connector are all there and not bent/broken. Connector type of course, does your Video Card output VGA or DVI, try to match this with the monitor. Dot pitch - Common sizes of dot pitch range from .31mm down to .25mm. Its easy to remember the smaller the number the better here. Monitors that have a smaller dot pitch usually have higher resolutions as they can fit more pixels on the screen at once. Refresh rate, while 60 and 75hz is good 80 or even 85 is better! The refresh rate is linked directly to the resolution of your monitor. If you set high resolutions on your monitor it has more pixels to scan and therefore takes longer to complete a full pass of your screen. This in turn lowers the maximum refresh rate that you can achieve. But your best bet is to hook it up to a computer and give it a test run (if possible).
How'd i forget that? Yes also look for that! While dead pixels are not as common on CRT's as LCD's they still happen! And yellowing is a CRT thing!
some questions regarding 21" Flat Screen Monitor Hi, there are some questions while purchasing a used 21" flat screen montior (1) from where i can check the dot pitch range of monitor?? (2) which pitch range is recommended for 21" flat screen montior??? (3) Which refresh rate is optimal for 21"flat screen monitor for 1024*768 or higher resolution plz help me in this regard
1. Sometimes it's on the sticker on the back but not all the time 2. It's hard to say as different manufacturers use different dot pitches 3. The optimal refresh rate is up to you, by that i mean whatever your eyes is comfortable viewing it at! For example, I can't view any monitor regardless of size or resolution any higher than 60Hz otherwise my eyes get extremely sore!
Hi, i am still confused. Suppose there are two monitors, both are running at 1024*768 rresolution. But one monitor supports refresh rate upto 60 HZ while the second one supports the refresh rate upto 75 HZ at the same (1024*768) resolution So which monitor is better. Monitor No. 1 or Monitor No. 2 plz reply bye
some questions regarding 21" Flat Screen Monitor Monitor no.2, the better refresh rate is always the highest!
My thoughts exactly, i also edited my post pointing that out, now theres no evidence (except this post)!
