The WINE version in the ubuntu repositories and the very latest version available from WineHQ break Internet Explorer. Needless to say, when Internet Explorer is broken, so is the rest of the Operating system.

For those looking to use Wine, you should download version 0.9.5 and WineTools.

    Look here for more information

IE, Outlook, Windows Media Player - you name it, it works :)

Isn't the latest version available from the Bleeding Edge repository?

No, but you can get the latest version by adding the repository below to your sources.list

    Code:
    deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
But as I said, it breaks Internet Explorer
