Win Xp shutting down

The Gadget

Geek Trainee
My System keeps crashing and rebooting for no reason...
It seems to be when im on the net....Also when im downloading from someone using sharaza or win mx
Any ideas

The reason i do not tell them to download AVG, unless they are looking for a anti virus program is usually they have something now, and most will not uninstall the one they have before they install the new one causing more problems then they had before. so if you do download avg remove your current anti virus software before you install.

Yep most problems occur when one AV scans another's virus signature database and you get a false positive alert.

it could be he temperature of your cpu if its not a virus, spyware etc. check the temperature of your system if it too high buy a better coller or turn it up if you a a controlable fan, failing this and virus, try reseating your ram and clearing the cmos if you need ne mre help post back. hope this helps Dave :good:

If you've got 6 viruses/trojans then its probably best to start over with a reformat and clean install of Windows.

Download [google]Aida32[/google] and it will tell you that with your motherboard.
The other way would be to check the PC health section of your BIOS.

Could it be the temp of my Cpu...
System just crashed and rebooted so far the crashed straight away.. Juts got it back up again and in Bios the temp of CPU was 45c 113F
and Case was 26c 78f
This is getting to me now

those temps you posted are not a problem, a little high, but not enough to cause a reboot. addis is right, back up your stuff and do a clean install or you will be spending alot of time trying to repair a system that is not going to be right again unless you reinstall.

It has been working fine all day and just lost it again
this time blue screen error which said
NV4.MINI.SYS
Then did mem dumping to hard disk before restarting

I have formated the PC a while ago when i had the problem but it still happend when i got up and running again

ok, what is your hardware specs?
power supply, mobo, processor, ram, video card....have you added anything new lately, and do you overclock, if so what all settings do you use?

NV4. means it's part of an nVidia driver set, so you'll want to get some different drivers. You'll want to get the latest you can from nVidia's website and install those. If those don't work, you may have to try some different driver revisions.

I'm glad you caught that error message. It sounds like the driver you're using right now just has some glitch with your system for whatever reason.
