my friend has asked me to sort something out for her and i have not got a clue what to do. here goes. she is running win98 and she says that she sees the message shell32 missing. any ideas?

Reinstall. Actually, 98 is no longer supported with security patches from MS, so if she plans on getting on the Internet with that system, she should consider running a different OS anyway.
