Windows Problem

I was online and i downloaded the Beta 2 version for Windows Vista and when i tried to use it, it says that it was the 64-bit version, and apperantly my computer is a 32-bit, so i know how to fix it becuase all i have to do is dl the 32-bit version but i wanted to know what the difference between the two bits were

The 64bit version runs on CPUs with x86-64 support (AMD64). Those chips include Athlon 64s, Opterons frm AMD. From Intel, the Pentium 6xx series and higher, including the latest Conroe chips are also 64bit enabled.

When running 64 bit software on a compatible chip, there is slightly higher performance.

However, the slight upgrade in performance is not really worth the utter increase in resource intensive software.
Unless pressured by MS (which very well may happen within the ensuing years), I wouldn't get vista. XP is bad enough in sp2, and from whatever I have ever seen and run, it is mearly eye candy, and is almost a verbatists copy of some linux GUI software (like KDE).

I've been running both 64bit and 32bit Vista (on different Hard drives, Same computer). While both look the same, I notice the 64bit is smoother (and faster at times) . 64bit IE seems alot faster.
