Not as far as i know!
VISTA is still hiding in the dark at the moment.
Although i would expect most current programs and games to work, but i'm not sure about the older softwares and games!

Windows "Vista" is as far as I can tell neither very fresh nor very revolutionary. In fact, Windows NT5.2, also called "Vista", is not very different at all from Windows NT5.1, aka "XP". I'd be more concerned about Vista even running on my hardware than backwards compatibility... then again, it is MS. :eek:hah:

    *problem*

i started installing vista, everyhitng was going good, then it got onto the compleating instalation screen with the green bar moving at the bottom of the screen, i waited over 2 hours, and the the compleating instalation screen was still there, the green bar was still moving, i dont understand why this is happening, the only time i last had a problem like this was with my older celeron s 1.2ghz rig, and the problem was with the same as this, but with an older version of longhorn that worked with my main computer.

    msdn.microsoft.com :).

As far as I'm aware the only way to get it (legally) is to be on the beta team, an MSDN subscriber or attend one of MS's events like WinHEC.

Yes, it's illegal. I don't know why you'd want Vista anyway so early. I'd at least wait until SP1 is out.

I got windows Vista Ultimate running at the moment, even though it uses 35% of 1gb ram on startup, it is alot faster than xp on my system, and all my games work perfectly on highest settings like Oblivion.

So u mean to say u prefer vista over xp?

If so..y? whats soo good about vista, whats different about it?

the only thing i liked in vista was its new look lol thats all

i did not get to test it right because i have a very BAD 3D card

so every thing was lagging even though i have a 2.0GHz core 2

I think the looks are awsome, the new features like search in startbar and just in general the way everything is set out. For me, with my system, i find Vista is more responsive than Windows XP, less lag even thought right now with Opera and internet explorer open, msn, logitech lcd app, sidebar, ATi and Creative drivers i am using around 62% if my memory, when i go into a game for abit, and exit it, my memory usage goes down to around 40%, but it never gets to 100%, been using it for around 5 days now and i wont be going back to XP, also for DX10 games you must have Vista and a DX10 card to play it, otherwise your stuffed tbh unless all good games use OpenGL.

If pc games would be Vista only, I will then use the PS3 that I will buy soon. I've never used Vista more that 2 days, because I just got sick of it.
