Ive got one of these wireless adsl routers and sometimes it even works! It disconnects all the time. Thats another thread again!
One pc is connected to the router using an ethernet lead and the other using a usb wireless adapter.

All my files are on the pc which is hardwired because its got a big harddrive.
How can I transfer my files from the hardwired pc over to the one connected wirelessly?

Id normally use a dvd-rw but the wireless pc doesnt even have a cd-rw drive so I thought id maybe be able to use the adsl router?

Both pcs have windows 2000 pro.

An easy solution is to install [google]Cerberus FTP server[/google] on your desktop PC and access it over the network.

Well I sussed it and it couldnt have been easier. It was easier than sharing over DCC. Can someone advice me on whether this is secure! I might ask a mate if I can borrow his laptop just to make sure.

I dont know if all my steps were required but this is what I did....

On the pc with the files I added a user with the same name as my pc. "dell"
I made sure they both have the same workgroup name.
Right clicked on the folder containing the documents I wanted to share and in the "share" tab I added the new user I created.
Then went to my network places on my pc and added a new network place. In the list was the folder I had right clicked and made a "shareable" folder.

    Simple as that!

Like I said, I need to check that its secure but seeing as its running through our router it probably is. I dont know if I need the "dell" user I had created. Ill experiment when the computer with the files on is free.
