I have a problem with my wireless network. The phone line is connected through a splitter to a modem/router, and from there connected through a wireless access point (gateway), which sends the signals to my Wireless USB Adapter.
The Wireless USB Adapter is 11 Mbps, and the wireless gateway is downstairs, but the signal is around 90% (excellent), and my connection is 1024/256kbps ADSL. The USB Adapter is from CNet, the gateway from 3Com and the router from TopCom.
Anyway, the problem occurs when I play multiplayer games online. Every two minutes (approximately) I get a lag, causing the game to appear as though it's a slideshow presentation. After a few seconds, it goes back to normal, but then the problem reoccurs after an additional two or three minutes.
I'm far from an expert, but I question the lag, as the line is only 1 Mbit, the USB Adapter supporting 11 Mbps and the signal is excellent.
I appreciate all the help I can get.
Thank you,
