How difficult would it be to create a room thermometer that will send the temperature of a room to a computer wireless? We could even use a wireless network. It can have a power cord, but not any kind of cable connecting it to the computer?
Welcome to HWF One option would be using Bluetooth technology. Basically you can create a virtual Bluetooth serial port on your computer and then create a program to process all values.
Are you searching for some kind of self-build kit? I did find this Extech 42560 IR Thermometer with Wireless PC Interface but its on the expensive side.
