I've decided to create this thread after the appauling service I have received from two different etailers over the last week. Having purchased faulty items from both companies, I was suprised at just how bad their customer service and returns policy are.

The purpose of this thread is to inform buyers where NOT to shop for their computer and related goods. If you've had a bad experience with an etailer, please name and shame them!

    eBuyer.co.uk

I've lost count over the amount of orders they have screwed up. They've sent me stuff I didn't order, too many of what I did order, and everything in between. Overall, about three items purchased, spanning over several orders, were DOA. One computer case arrived in peices! Just appauling.
They don't confirm the collection of the faulty items when you book a collection, so you are left wondering whether anyone will actually turn up. Inevitably, you miss the collection man, then have to pay the postage to return the item.
Let me get this straight, they send me a dead item, then I have to pay to send it back? Somethings not right here!

You might be wondering why I didn't go elsewhere after the first round of orders. I would probably answer by saying they are one of the cheapest electrical stores on the internet. However, don't be fooled by those prices, all the hassle inbetween is just not worth it! You get what you pay for, and that couldn't be more true with eBuyer. Take their eBuyer Extra Value branded items as an example. If any of it actually works, consider yourself lucky. If it's still working beyond a week, consider yourself very lucky indeed. They are cheapo, cheapo electrical goods, stuck together with blue-tac and bubblegum (probably).
Most of the proper branded stuff is OEM and very poorly packaged. Hard drives loose in their box, without proper padding. Computer cases loose, again without suffiecent padding.
I will put some of the blame on City Link as well, who are responsible for delivering the goods to your door. I don't know what they are doing, but it makes me wonder whether they actually give a shit whether the goods arrive in one peice or not. Probably not.

I won't ever be shopping at eBuyer again, and look forward to receiving my last item so I can close my account for good.

    Good riddance.

God forbid you ever purchase a faulty item from these guys. I thought eBuyer's return policy was bad enough, but now i've seen hell freeze over!
I placed an order for 4 items, only to discover sometime later that one of the items was DOA. I shot an email to customer support and awaited their response. Two days past, and nothing. Fine I thought, I'll give 'em a call and sort it out that way. I was informed that although I purchased from Broadbandstuff, I would actually have to call the goods manufacturer and obtain a reference number. Slightly puzzled, I called the goods manufacturer and was told that actually it had nothing to do with them, and I should call Broadbandstuff again! So now I was doing all the donkey work, trying to sort this out, but yet they were the ones who sent me the faulty item! I called Broadbandstuff again and they said they'd sort it. All of Friday went by and nothing. I called them again today to let off some steam, and once again they said they will call me back! I guess we'll just have to wait and see now.

Needless to say, I would absolutely NOT recommend you shop at Broadbandstuff! They have no clear returns policy, and will send you all over the place because they have no idea what they are talking about!

I bought some products in the past from a dutch company Misco.nl. They sent me a defective product, so I contacted them by email (had to get a returning code). Waited 3 days but still no answer. So I called them. The person on the phone said to wait so he could check for it. After waiting a minute, the guy just hung up the phone. So I called again. That guy answered the phone, so I said my name. He hung up again. 1 day later the same happened. So then I sent an email again, but after a week still no answer. So then the returning period had expired. I won't buy anything from them again!

There isn't any in the Netherlands, unfortunately. This is one of the risks of buying online.

    Second the comments on eBuyer.

I have used them in the past and they have done well but at the end of last year all of a sudden they started sending me out the wrong items.

You have to contact them on-line and I did so twice but without any answer. So there I am - stuck with items I can't use.

Gave up and then moved to buying from Overclockers.co.uk and havn't looked back.
