What a ride.

I followed your suggestion.
I.e., down loading the InCD from the Nero website.
I thought, "What the hell. While I am doing this, I might as well update all 6 updates."
Took all day.
What a mistake.
I haven't been able to use my computer since.
Took all these days to get back running.

Anyhoo. I am going to try again. But, this time. I am only going for the "InCD".

Now, please tell me. You suggested that I burn my files through Nero.

Can you aide me in the step by step process(es) ???

Once, again, I am not totally stupid, but, close.

NAH, !!! Just kidding. Nobody is total anything.

All I want to do, with my windows 98se, is put my files on CD, the easiest way possible.

I gotta say, here, I was thinking, this time, I lost everything.

Well it's not very clear what you wanna do.

If you wanna use your cd as a floppy, you will need a program that can manage this. If you use Easy cd creator, you need DirectCD, if you use Nero, you need InCD.
I recommend you use Nero.

After you install this, you can take a cd-rw, put it in your cd-rw drive, format it just like you would with a floppy or a hard drive, but you gotta do it with Nero/Easy Cd Creator.

After that, all you have to do is drag files in your cd or delete them as many times as you want (well that's not entirely true but you can do it many, many times), just like you do normally with your hdd or floppy.

If all you wanna do is burn important files or files which you don't wanna lose, you will need a cd-r.
With Nero, Fire up Nero Express and follow the indications, it's real simple.

N.B. If you want to be able to read cd-rws in Windows 98 on a system that does not have a cd-rw drive, then you will need to instal UDF-reader on that system, or else it won't recognize the cd. You don't need to do this step in Windows 2000/XP
