My HDD is appearing as an external hardware device. I just reformatted the hdd and reinstalled win xp pro with sp2. I installed the mb drivers which include ide drivers, network card etc. The HDD is a seagate barracuda 250gb. The MB is a MSI K8N sli platinium board. Any suggestions?
Is it by any chance a SATA drive? Sata drives are hot plugable, meaning they can be connected / disconnected while the system is running (but before disconnecting you must ensure that there anrt any files being modified or you could end up with corruption)
