xp 32 ports. how do you check them?

I'm just wondering how I check my ports. In my security suite it says I have 8 connections. I'm just wondering why.

What ports are you talking about? And what connections? Elaborate...

Do you mean open ports, you can do a shields up test at Gibson Research to test your firewall for open ports...
