Hmmm...... Its your coputers problem, not mine! What will I get if your coputer starts working properly? Nothing!........... I know that I dont know about this problem but I am trying to figure it out and if you would have done this searching already then you could have even said that nicely.

Anyway, I've searched again and found that it could be your memory problem. So run Memtest86 (google for it) from floppy.

i don't know about any one else but to me it sounds as if your install cd is either dirty or corrupt, try cleaning it first as Karanislove says, if that doesn't work then i would guess you need a new XP cd

it had nothing to due with the cd, but sorry for the attack, like i said i say that same post a few times the memtest thing does help and i will i checked thanks. it was my bad kinda, anyways i had the hardrive into the wrong sata chipset, which shouldn't have matter but, the driver the motherboard manufacter told me to use wasn't working so i used a different one and it only kinda worked. So i used the other chipset for the sata, which is sataII, it copied the files for windows setup fine but it won't got to the next step, so i guess i should do the mem test thing thanks. any other ideas won't be attacked thanks
also the link to the memtest doesn't work

Thats not for memory test, you have to google for that. That link is the source page from where I got that information. Its not working due to some error in the site. You have to copy the whole line from the front of Source and paste in the new browser.

i tried copying the lnk that didn't work ether and i did google memory test, anyways, after consulting some friends there is no reason that this should be happening, the windows not getting ast the first step, anways the only thign we could think of is flashing the BOIS, because the processor i have and what not is so new that it just might not work or whatever else, so i guess i'll try that and the memory test thanks for the help

i think you should probably try installing win9x (either win98 or winme, yes it's a pain having to install drivers but if in works you'll know it's probably not a hardware problem)

alright friggin a i figured i out it was the bios, so fo future reference when someone says that windows xp get hung up on a file and have a sata HDD thats because there driver they are using to reconize hte HDD in windows set-up isn't right, and if the bios won't reconize the HDD or winodws only gets to the first stage thats because the bios needs to be updated, from my experience.
    Thanks for the help guys
