I have tried the instructions here (How to restore a Dual Boot between XP64 and Xp32. - PlanetAMD64) to no avail.

I have a 32-bit installation sitting happily on my computer, but now it reports that ntoskrnl.exe and hal.dll are missing upon boot. I have installed (and reinstalled) the 64 bit OS twice and concluded that the 32 bit not being able to boot is because of the x64. Both OS are on separate partitions on the same drive. Phenom X3 8450, HD4850 and Asus M2N68VM. Is it possible to dual boot both versions of the OS or do I need another drive?

Urgent help required, thanks in advance.

    Nicholas.

Guys, this is not exactly what I call helpful, especially when I need a solution in a hurry.

I don't think a 64 bit OS will work on a 32 bit system..Just repair the 32 bit OS, Or do a fresh install of it..

But they're on separate partitions, no? By now I'm guessing this could have something to do with the boot sector of the drive. Can this be addressed by using a different hard drive so that I now have two disks containing a 32 bit OS in one and 64 bit in the other, except that both are in the same computer?

    Best regards,
    Nicholas.
