hdd curse

    hi my laptop hdd is faulty, it wont let the laptop switch on, tried it in another laptop, likewise, the laptop wont switch on with it installed

    You dont do well with hdd's do you?

    A HDD Fault should not be able to stop a laptop from starting, and the laptop (if its in working order) can start without a hdd so try it! (to make sure the laptop is O.K).

    If it works then you will have to buy a new HDD for your laptop. (or condem it to LiveCD's and Flash drives for the rest of its life!)

    To be honest my laptop is the same. It wont even allow me to get into BIOS when a dodgy HDD is installed. Mines an old Thinkpad.

    internal, the laptop turns on without a hd, but as soon as i connect mine the laptop wont switch on at all.

    jumper /dipswitch problem? (even tho ive tried switchin em about, still no luck)
