New Stuff: what's VAT? sniper: new thread created, since it went way off-topic! please only post advice on the other thread.
New Stuff: Come on I can't believe you guys have never eard of it. VAT is value added tax. Its a tax that the government enforce on all products commercially sold in the UK. New Adidas trainers, only 29.99 including VAT. Say for ease sake, an item cost £100 without VAT. With VAT it costs £117.50 (because the current VAT rate is 17.5%).
New Stuff: oh, harsh tax. Almost as much as here in Oregon, though there are no sales tax, it comes out of your pay . (oh boy!) Matt, looks like your gonna have a cool case (literally)
New Stuff: That is harsh tax! Sure Matt, just post up any major, or minor, changes and improvements:good:
hey if i buy stuff off newegg, would i have to pay VAT at 17.5% its all labours fault for TAX, some other party in the uk would of iliminated TAX, tony blair (linal blair)= :swear:
New Stuff: Thats incorrect, conservatives would probably increase VAT more, and tax will never be illiminated because it keeps our country running.
New Stuff: Isn't it enforced by the Union? Anyway NF, we have income tax. And boy does it tax a lot. Income tax + national insurance takes about 1/3 of your salary.
New Stuff: wow, that's about how much income tax is here. Pretty harsh to have income and sales tax. I say we all move to canada.
New Stuff: ah, i am glad i aint rich, i would have to move to america then, becouse in the uk, rich people get hammerd for tax more than normal people, thats why all english millionares and stuff live abroad eg phill collins
yeah its like anything under £30,000 a year pays 22% tax to the government and anything voer that pays 40% that sucks, somebody who's earns a lot "yeah i earn £100,000 a year...40% of my hard earned money is given to the government :swear:" (i wont say what i really think of them or what i would have liked to put there)
no that was an examlpe, believe if i earned £100,000 a year i wouldnt have a computer like this, it would be worth at least £10,000 trust me...
New Stuff: oh lol , i cant see myself getting a good job, i ahve failed most of my gcse's so i dont have to worry about bieng hammerd by the tax man, i would rather be hammerd by the tax man than me poor, not hammerd in that way anyway, am calling it a day now, time for me to sleep.
so if someone makes 23 grand, they make less than someone who makes 22 grand haha, suckerz, i dont even work yet, im a bit too young :good:
wha? no the boundary is £30,000 anything over that pays 40% tax anything under pays 22% tax on their salary
