Could someone please tell me which processes I have to leave open as a minimum in windows xp.

Also is there a way to change what programs start on bootup. Like you used to be able to do in Win9x by going run:msconfig.

Everytime I turn the comp on I have to close about 8 programs in the systray. lol I hate clutter!

    Cheers dudes

You can run msconfig in XP. Just open the run box and type "msconfig" (no quotes)...just like in Win 9x.

Additionally, if you want to disable stuff like autoplay or otherwise do tweaks that you used to do with TweakUI, type "gpedit.msc" in the run box.
