Does anybody know of a free, legal music player, besides iTunes that plays M4P files? I've burned my tracks I purchased off iTunes with a gift card to CD, but I'd really rather not have to rip them off the CD for two reasons: the files are already on my system, and, second, I'm hearing something about the quality being garbled when ripped off the CD (which I don't think is true, but who knows).

    Thanks.

Have you tried VLC Media Player?

It's played everything I've thrown at it ... ever, although I've not tried M4P files before, worth a shot though I guess.

It'll play, but I don't get any sound. Winamp and (not surprisingly) WMP won't play it.

I can personally say, that isn't true (at least in my case). Like most people, I too dislike DRM, so I burn my iTunes purchased songs and then rip them to mp3 format. Works flawlessly.[/ot]
