    Hi
I am testing few ram sticks on my old deon proccessor. Its a 128 Mb sdram, memtest is been running for about 10 hrs 50 min doing 41 passes and 0 errors.
I have had few bsod caused due to ram.
Should i keep it running till find any?.

You should normally keep it running for 12 - 24 hours i belive so yea keep it running because errors may come if the ram is faulty.

Errors can also be the cpu.
If you get errors try running the prime 95 stress test. If your cpu caused the error in memtest86 then it will most likely show up in prime95 too.

I have to figure out how to run prime95 to test ram

No, Prime 95 is mainly for CPU, you run this whilst in windows, keep this on for around 12 hours. Maybe Prime 95 can stress test the ram too, cant remember about that though.

Prime 95 is just a program which hunts for prime numbers. It just so happens to be a hog on your cpu resources so its used as a stress test.
Because RAM and the CPU are throwing data at each other all the time if the RAM makes a mistake it can be because the CPU is doing silly things hence an error in memtest86+ can be because of the cpu.
Thats why I suggested Prime95... to check that any errors aren't the cpu. Because of the way prime95 works id imagine if an error crops up in prime95 it will be the cpu and not the ram.

I've found out that if Memtest runs for a few hours, you'll typically find out if you have problems after 1 hour. It usually take about an hour for the RAM to really heat up, so you're in good shape.

Keep an eye on your temps too. If you get close to 60*C, then heat is likely a factor. If not, then your CPU might be undervolted.

Does Memtest actually monitor ram temps?

Is the memtest that runs in windows and tests only unused ram any good?

To my knowledge, no, Memtest does not monitor temperatures. RAM typically does not have temp sensors, much less monitoring. Now, I think Corsair's Xpert RAM---the stuff with those swanky alphanumeric LED's---does, but that would be the exception.

Have you tries Prime95 more than once?

2-3 times. once using the small fft test and then twice with blend test.

Could be signs that the CPU is unstable?
