Well........Microsoft boasts thats windows vista will perform better than any-other os there is...... Windows vista requires high-performance hardware so my question is..isn't it the hardware which makes vista perform better than other os s ? i mean if i have a computer with all the latest and the best hardware there is and install windows "XP" in it,wont XP perform well????wont xp deliver me with performance equal to vista?
Vista only requires high system specs because it has 3d- and transpanrecy functions. My opinion: XP is much better than Vista, because Vista only has unneeded functions that eat system resources. But that's only my opinion. Just as you say, the hardware makes the speed. If you would run Vista with 512 MB of RAM, and a Pentium 3 of 1 Ghz, then your system will run very slow. But if you have a Core duo of 2 Ghz with 2 GB of RAM, it will run very fast. But I think that Microsoft means that Vista will be faster than XP (what I doubt).
I'll probably attempt to review Vista on trial, but I'm wondering if I'll have enough hard disk space and my hardware will be up to it.
nope your hardware isn't up to it... especially your processor and ram. I've tried it... indeed with a good amount of ram and a Core 2, it rouns like lightening! (at least the RC1 version...)
I'll try it anyway, if MS haven't produced software which the majority of users can run then they have failed in making a good OS. Most of my friends also run AXPs with 512/1G/1.5G ram as well.
RAM isn't a big issue at least if you have a usb thumbdrive as one of the new features was being able to use a thumbdrive to speed up your system. While it won't be as fast as system RAM if you wanted to try Vista at least it would allow you to meet it's requirements. I've got a copy of Ultimate pre-ordered so when it shows up I'll try and do a review on it and see how the final version compares to XP.
All the latest Computers in the market will come out with VISTA only... So even if you dont wanna buy it, microsoft will force u to buy. Dats how XP got 80% of the market. So I doubt if they fail.
well......we are the ones who decide which os to use if vista is not soo good as Microsoft claims it to be people will continue to use XP and it will force the latest computers on the market to come out with an option for the users on which os to use lol well...........this is my view
Vista is basically not made for users but for the Hardware/Software companies.... So when all the companies are on one side then I doubt that ur Point of view will work... Also, its only small ratio of people who knows about its goods and bads but normal home users dont know about it. Vista in looks is quite funky and Home users will run to buy it...Btw, today is the Birthday of VISTA..lol
