It's been quite a while that I'm thinking of getting Oblivion... But I got confused as of from where should I start? Which version should I get? Is it The Elder Scrolls IV : Knights Of The Nine or The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion or The Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion : The Shivering Isles ? Of what I've understood, the last one is an add on for oblivion now I don't understand The Elder Scrolls IV : Knights Of The Nine... is it the main thing? The other question is: is oblivion a game you pay monthly or you have credits or whatever? Or is it like most games, that is you just pay for your copy and basta? BTW is it Vista compatible? Thanks for your help!
Knights of the nine is the first expansion. A set of missions in the Oblivion world Cyrodiil. Shivering Isles is the 2nd expansion in a different world. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is the main game.
Ok, so I'l first get Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion then Knights of the nine and then Shivering Isles... is that the correct way to do it?
ok thanks, and what about Vista? is there an update for Vista? I found this: (Will Vista Run Your Games?: Oblivion, Steam/HL2, and Battlefield 2) is it true?
I had Oblivion running on Vista for a while. It was working fine, but sometimes after exiting the game I did saw the message "Oblivion.exe has encountered an error and needs to close". But it didn't affect the gameplay or saved games.
On a side note, Knights of the Nine isn't officially an expansion pack, it's just a few mods and missions bundled into a retail package, Shivering Isles is an official expansion pack for Oblivion. So you don't really *need* Knights of the Nine, but the extras it contains are very nice to have.
