I got my powercolor x1950 pro AC2 the other day and have had nothing but issues with it. I've done what everyone, from other forums, has told me and nothing has changed. What i've done: - Used driver cleaner pro, in safe mode, to get rid of any nivida drivers on my system. None were found. - got a new PSU (other one was the minimum of recommended) i got an Arctic 600w mobo (90£ worth!) - updated to catylst 8.1 (newest out) - updated motherboard. Didn't seem to be many updates, though. Now my only thoughts is that the card is faulty. Is there anything you guys possibly recommend that would test something, or any suggestions of what could be the cause. I'm pretty Pis*** and need this sorted. No wonder why people chose nvidia over ati, eh. Thanks for reading and hope you can help! Regards. -Matt-
Sorry. My problem is that when i play a game. eg. oblivion, Dawn of war etc i get nothing but frames of 14-20 a second. Even if i reduce the graphics, it still doesn't go up
Aha, well i'm afraid i have little to no experience with ATI cards - I'm an nvidia man through and through. If as you say you have been through all the advice on other forums i'm guessing you have already gone through the obvious stuff. For more specific advice hopefully one of the other chaps here who is knowledgeable with ATI will step in.
Lets hope. i used to use an nvidia 8400gs and i had more frames with that card than this! Ati's sub companies have no support what so ever! I wish i chose the 8600gts now
have you tried upgrading the drivers? if you want to take it back and you purchased the gpu online you have the right to take it back, no questions asked i would have thought if it does this with all games then it should be a faulty card (inwhich you can take it back for a refund). 'vertical sync' came into my mind but thats only possible to slow your fps to ~14 if your monitor's refresh rate is the same, makes sense if you get no more than 60fps that vertical sync is the thing here, but unlikely at 14fps
