Ok, at the moment I have 2 GB of Patriot DDR2. Newegg is running a deal on a Patriot 4 GB kit that looks mighty nice to me. my question is, if I get it, should I run 6 gigs or just 4 in dual channel?

i cant get onto the asus website at the moment, knowing asus they're most likely saving money for themselvs by shutting the site down for a while.

personally, to answer your question, i would go dual-channel 4GB because i dont need anymore, speed is better than having more ram than you need, i was going to check on asus webby to check if your mobo supports 6GB, i've not seen a "plus" mobo before :D

just a quick note: just because a site is doing a 'deal' doesnt necessary mean its cheaper, look around the net and search for others. it is possible they're promoting this ram because other stores are, so it might be worth looking around.

Well, it was the daily deal on the CPU email which is usually pretty damn good. Today was 4 gigs of laptop DDR2 for $70.
