Just got my GCSE results today :) Whilst everyone else was partying, I went to work :D As a treat, I've bought myself a flashgun for my camera!

    RE - C
    Systems - A
    French - A
    English Language - A
    English Literature - B
    Geography - A
    Main Maths - A*
    All 3 Sciences (seperate) - A
    Mathematics Second - B (d'oh!)
    FSMQ - U
    IT - Merit x 2 (63 and 62)

The FSMQ was to be expected as we only had 14 lessons out of the 30 needed!

I'm starting at Greenhead college next Tuesday to study Physics, Maths with Further Maths and Computing. Should be much better than high school!!

I hear Greenhead is a great college. My college, Winstanley were competing with them. I think we were 3rd best in country with greenhead first when we came. We've dropped a bit to fifth since then, probably our fault. :p

Congrats on your results. If I could give you any bit of advice for college it would be this: UMS marks in AS Level are worth exactly the same as those in A2, except they're much easier to get. So you should really put in the work come December/January to nail those exams and in June as well and make it a lot less hair raising the next year.

Especially in Maths, C1, C2 and D1 are so much easier than C3 and C4 that you should really try and aim for the 90% mark if you can since you'll need a bit of a cushion in case. I don't know about Further Maths, I only did it at AS Level and I didn't even finish the course. I just dropped into FP3 classes because it was interesting.

Thanks for the advice... I'm planning on trying 100% all the time, not just in the first year :)

I believe that Greenhead is no longer number one, and no doubt it will fall lower as our yeargroup moves there!

Hmmm what a small world! I actually live a few miles south of Huddersfield, but work in Brighouse on a Saturday (just North of Huddersfield), so we're probs even closer at some points!

Yeah we can meet for a coffee :D If I ever get a free day :violin:

I'm actually gloating now. Just read guardian table and winstanley's moved to 2nd and greenhead's down to 6th. Our year ftw!

Can't read much into league tables though. They only show one side of the story.

    :D

Still... 6th isn't too bad. Better than 3456434532212315th, which it will be after I've finished.
