    Hey all.

For the past couple of days, I've been getting these weird glitches on my screen. I've been trying to just forget bout it but after 2 days it has done my head in so much that I formatted my pc and re-installed XP. I thought this might resolve it but I was wrong.

I think the problem started the other day when I had set up dual-view for my tv.

Here's a few screenies. The screens are mostly in firefox but I'm having the same thing happen on all apps.

I hope someone can help me out as little things really annoy me and this is seriously starting to drive me mad.

    Cheers

looks like a video card issue, what happens when you disable dual-view?

have you tried updating the drivers etc could be overheating also, make sure all the fans are working.

is there some chance you could have damaged something during dual-view setup?

Hi, firstly, thanks for the reply.

I have disabled dual-view and it was the same. When XP reinstalled I didn't bother with dual-view and I still had the problem.

I have used the latest drivers for the card from nvidia's site. Problem persists.

I may have damaged something but I don't know. I was using an S-Video cable. I switched off my pc to put the cable in. Everything was working fine with dual-view on. I had my tv working with too. It wasn't until I removed the cable (again, switching off the pc to remove).

I've only ever had similar problem when my video card was overheating, it kinda started out with little lines here and there, eventually started to get coloured lines all over the place etc, anyway...

Do you have some old graphics card you can try?

ahh or maybe a different DVI cable (making sure its plugged)?

    what are your computer specs?

I have my on-board graphics that I could try. I'll give that a go and see what happens.

I'm going through VGA. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in and made sure the screws were in tight. Still the same :(

    Pretty lame lol.

Ok, My on-board worked fine, no problems.

Also, I just enabled dual-view without my TV connected. The problems have gone away totally. Only problem is, I don't want dual-view always enabled as I'm losing my mouse to the left all the time. If this is the only way it's gonna fix it then I'll keep it to keep me less annoyed. If it works ok on dual-view then there surely must be a solution? AArrgghh, could only happen to me lol.

hmm, surely there's a option to quickly enable/disable the dual-view, try searching for a utility for your graphics card.

as this points to your video card, one option you could try is to; take out your video card, give it a clean (maybe it has loads of dust?) and then try again.
