CPU Temp Arise.

I do alot of video editing on my system. [Link to my system specs is in my signature]. well today all of a sudden i noticed a big rise in the temperature it climbed up to 80 ish. It restarted automatically before i did anything. i was guessing this was because the hot air blower under my desk. but then i shut everything down opned my case and cleaned all the dust including the CPU cooler. i put everything back made sure all the fans are working then fired up my system. went to bios settings - hardware monitor - checked my temp. CPU was 100 degrees and system was 29. now the CPU temp was dropping but it would go under 95.

What should i do?
 
Try leaving the case open, and pointing a cooling fan inside, turn it on and check the temp in the bios. See if it changes at all.

PS Change the CPU temp in your signature to 100 degrees :D
 
Try touching the heatsink when the computer is turned on. If your cpu is 100'c the heatsink should be hot enough to know if something is wrong. It might be the temp censor going a bit mad.

If the heatsink really is hot id then try renewing the thermal paste.

Yes the diode on the mobo had died. getting it replaced. also getting one of these PC Modding Malaysia: content / silverstone nitrogon nt02 review SilverStone NT01 Passive/Active CPU Coolerput on instead of my default cpu cooler

how did u clean out the dust. the way i do it is by using a compressor and blowing gently with compressed air. This way u get all the dust out. I cleaned my parents celeron and it dropped 11deg.c. Otherwise what did u do prior to getting the problem. Cuz these temps arnt caused by dust. if they are true then u have a serious problem
 
I doubt it would run at 100 degrees (unless you're talking about farenheit). Sounds like there is something wrong with the temperature reader thingy. Does it still reboot, or did it just do it that once? If your system temp is only 29, then I'd say the CPU temp is being measured incorrect, as I would have thought the whole system would have got hotter.
