HP Fans?.

Hi
Last week a case fan died in my HP Vectra Xe320. i went out and got one from a local store which had the same specs as the one which in before except that the new fan was .16A and the old one was .20A. Now i put the new fan in and started my pc But it gave me the same error "The system fan is missing or is not working your system has been halted....".

Do HP machines need their genuine fans or wat?

does this fan have a yellow cable for speed monitoring. if not then either get a fan with that cable or try disabling speed monitoring in the bios but u wont be able to see the speed of the fan of course. if it the sam specs, ie same cfm etc i wudnt worru about monitoring speed as long as u know its on

The Old fan had a yellow cable and the new fan also has the yellow cable. i cannot disable fan speed monitoring. The bios setup has nothing related to fans/cooling or hardware monitoring.

HP is so F*** up when it comes to these things..
