Hello all, I am looking to buy a new video card and I have three in mind. XFX GeForce 6800 XT (aka Xtreme) 256MB Asus GeForce 7600 GS 256MB ATI Radeon X700 Pro 256MB Any feedback would be apprieciated, as I can not make my mind up thanks in advance
The 7600GS is easily superior, it's much more efficient than the other 2 and has 12pipes. It's a good value and can run modern games that the other 2 would stuggle with.
Right thank you for this infomation, I was inbetween minds about which I should purchase I know AMD are bring out the 64 piper in around december I think, that may be worth waiting for but my X1400 sucks, so I feel I must buy new card...
I'm not sure when the r600 comes out (some say late 06, others early 07), and when it does, availability will be the issue, as it always is. But if you're on a budget, I suggest you hold on for a bit. If you can afford to buy a new video card and ditch it in less than 6 months, then go for it ! However, this would be better SAPPHIRE Radeon X850XT 100106L Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com Not sure where you live but if it's in the us, that card is pretty much the same price as a 7600gs and it's much faster. EDIT: Maybe you live in Russia ?
Yes I live in Russia, I don't think X850XT is much faster than the 7600... I was close to ordering the 7600 then!, and now I am confused once more
The 7600gs has 12 pixel pipelines and a 128 bit memory bus while the x850xt has 16 pixel pipelines and a 256 bit memory bus, not to mention the clock/memory speed which is higher on the x850xt (520/540 vs. 400/400)
