Hi to all, I've got this mobo giving me a hard time with USB2.0 I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 and even though the mobo has 4 incorporated USB ports and another 2 over the expansion bay the Device Manager only shows 1 USB port as an active USB2.0 port!!! The USB2.0 port is located on the expansion bay, the port next to it behaves as USB1.1!!!! :swear: All the other show as Standard USB and not as Enhanced (the word Enhanced is the key here) I have the BIOS correctly setup to support both USB1.1 and 2.0 and I've tried all sorts of drivers, both from VIA and ASUS. Please give me any suggestions...Thanks :good:
USB 2.0 requires a special device driver. It should have been provided on your motherboard's driver CD along with your other motherboard drivers. Alternately, you can get the latest drivers for your chipset straight from NVidia.
Thanks Anti-Geek, i'll install the driver and get back to either express my gratitude or vast disappointment quick question though...since i don't have the nvidia driver you suggest, how come one port functions properly as USB2.0??
Hi all again.. well, i've tried the latest nvidia chipset drivers and all as suggested... still nothing :swear: ...only one of the six usb ports recognized as usb 2.0.. :swear: :swear: any helpful suggestions??
You have to manually assign USB 2.0 Drivers to your current devices: Right click on the USB Root device ( In System/Device Manager), go to properties, and update the drivers by manually choosing the USB 2.0 drivers that are now in your System. This will take a while since you have to manually cofigure each USB Root Hub, but thats what I had to do with my setup, too.
