thats a medium level GPU buddy..on that you can play CoD 5 with at full high specs without the slightest of problems

nvidia cards at my place are quite cheap actually....compared to ati.. but driver problems when switching from nvidia to ati can be a huge headache..

boot with just 1 stick..then boot with another..see if your computer starts with either of them..i dont think memtest cud have damaged your ram..
got a spare psu around? try with that.. and try format and reinstall as i suggested earlier too

nVidia is cheaper..but ATI performs better at higher resolutions..but IMHO..nVidia is more value for money
see the multiplier below core speed...
go for a ddr3 gfx card..all new mobos will support gfx cards even if they are ddr5..just make sure u have a pci-e slot and the right power...
