    9600xt - mid. I love it though :) Never given me any problems and overclocks well with minimal heat output.

    I checked NEC's website and they have 4.2cm listed as height of drives, maybe just inaccurate measurements. You should be fine with any dvd drive.

    5.25" is ATX width for any internal optical drive. Any ATX dvd-rom drive will fit :) Unless sony doesn't follow ATX. ATX optical drives...

    6600gt with 350 watt psu?

    if you have a good case with good cooling and heatsink you should be able to increase your CPU speed to 200mhz FSB. That will get you to 3200+...
