I'm pretty sure the pc-XXXX is relating to data transfer speed. pc-3200 is 3.2gb/sec and pc-2700 is 2.7gb/sec
yeah RAM can operate at slower speeds just fine. www.newegg.com Though I'd just get some ddr 333 or pc-2700 as it's commonly called.
