    Unless it has been dropped, I don't think it would be the Motherboard.. More like the Power supply or Hard drive or even bad ram..

    Sounds like There is No driver for what you are trying to hook up ...Does the modem Or DVD work if you use a rear USB plugin ?

    Have you tried removing the bio's battery for 10 minutes then replace.

    Check the Hard drive for Errors..Sounds like a Bad hard drive.. Run scan disk, Or hard drive re generator..
