    No Blu-ray Detected

Well, that's likely the issue. Optical devices don't tend to work well in RAID mode, regardless of the driver. If you have a port running off a separate controller, you might move the drive to that one.

Display Fades To Black After 30 Min On

Based on what I see, I would think it would be a controller malfunction rather than anything else. The screen itself might have other display issues with pixels or colors, but the type of fading seems more like a chip.

The "What are you playing" thread.

The zombie thing is still going strong. Not my thing, but I enjoyed Ghosts and what I've played so far of AW, MP or not. If I had more time, I might see about the Exo Zombies part, but I'm usually not one to buy DLC.

    No Blu-ray Detected

You might want to make sure the BIOS has the controller set to IDE mode instead of RAID mode.

    New Printer Suggestion

10-25 pages per month? Seems like a laser printer might be overkill. Having said that, Samsung's ML series have some pretty cheap units if you don't want to pay out for HP. Inkjet's can work as well for your volume, and HP has always worked well for me. I would avoid Lexmark for anything.

    Dual Video Cards Reboot

Based on the 840M inclusion, I would imagine the laptop was either meant to power multiple displays and/or function as a gaming laptop. Current Intel CPU's commonly have a low-end graphics component, which would likely be used for everything but gaming or other graphics-intensive work. If you're...

    Dual Video Cards Reboot

Worst case scenario is you might have to boot into safe mode and uninstall the driver. Personally, if I was having that trouble when I bought something, I would've been in contact with Asus or returned the thing. You can also set a restore point before making a change, so at worst, you'll be at...

    Motherboard Or Processor?

Make sure the core unlock is disabled, and if not, go about the BIOS reset like this: unplug the power supply from the power cord, remove the CMOS battery, and then set the CMOS clear jumper to the clear position for 30 seconds. Reverse the order and see if you get anywhere.

    Dual Video Cards Reboot

You might try a few different drivers for the 840M and see if that fixes the reboot issue.

Computer Generates Static For One Speaker

If nothing seems to be interfering with the audio jacks or the on-board chip itself, something inexpensive might be worth a shot unless you just want to jump into something high-end.

Computer Generates Static For One Speaker

My first thought would be to check the wire runs if they cross something that might add static to the line, such as a power brick for example.

    Programming Tutorials.

As a person who hasn't really done much in this area, let me offer this. Start off with coding HTML & CSS (content style sheets) first. From those with greater experience than I, writing HTML offers a good base to build from. You format the text (which is how I wrote reviews here years back)...

The "What are you playing" thread.

Tried the Battlefield Hardline beta, since Visceral was the developer. Not bad, but nothing wowing me. I don't think I'll pick it up. It made me long for Dead Space, so that's what I started playing again. I also started Wolfenstein: The New Order, which is probably sitting to the side now that...

    My Computer Hanging Problem

Yeah, that too. It would've been fine in the Pentium 4 era (which the internals may very well be based), but not today. Pretty much everything inside a computer runs off the 12V rail, save some legacy stuff. I think most 500W have at least 30A on the 12V, not to mention decent 400W+ units. That...

    My Computer Hanging Problem

Can you get into BIOS and check what the CPU temp is? Is the CPU fan spinning? Also, have you checked you're RAM with Memtest? I've not heard of Zebronics before, but after checking a Google search, I would make haste to get something else. 500W should still be fine, but I would look for Antec...

Issue New Rig: Gpu Fan Runs Intermittently And No Display Or Post Sound

There's not much more to check. If you can test the RAM and CPU in another machine, do it. If you're using a VGA connector or VGA through a DVI converter, make sure it's one for VGA out if you have multiple DVI ports. Outside of those things, you may have ended up with a bum board.

    Ram Not Working

My first guess is that you're trying to run the Kingston 4GB module along side other sticks, but that's just a guess. How about listing your system specs? CPU, motherboard, all the RAM you are using in the system are good to know.

Issue New Rig: Gpu Fan Runs Intermittently And No Display Or Post Sound

A couple things I would check: 1.) Make sure the CPU cooler is properly seated, secured and that anything aside from thermal paste wasn't left on the CPU contact area of the cooler. 2.)Power cooler...I haven't heard of that brand before, so I'm a little suspicious. In fact, I can't come up with...

Please Explain Expensive Motherboards To Me.

Some of it comes down to the components, the design, or BIOS options. Higher-cost motherboards may be designed for overclocking and usually offer options and features not found on more basic boards. Without seeing exactly what boards you're looking at, I can at best give general responses. The...
