    Fan Connectors

Three pin fan headers allow for fan speed control through PWM which is why they are superior, allowing the fan speed to be adjusted by the motherboard in real time. You don't get this control with molex connectors. Although, you do get more power through the molex connector which can be a good...

    Kaspersky is Ready for Vista

Microsoft are being real stubborn on this one by not allowing software engineers access the OS's deepest kernel functions, effectively allowing the software to do it's intended function. Not the best way to kick off with their "cough" best OS yet "cough".

    Mini-ITX Experience

Thanks for the link B  I've been reading on Mini-ITX and they all seem to point out that VIA's boards are very well supported under linux, so IPCop will work nicely. At the momoent, i have an AMD K6 300 as my firewall and it's a behemoth at best. The real beauty about these things, is they...

    Mini-ITX Experience

Hi all, In the near future, I plan to build myself an IPCop firewall running on a VIA EPIA board. VIA make very cool processors (in both senses) and dead silent to boot. What I'm asking if anybody has actually had any real experience with these l33t Mini-ITX systems? I mean, a 17x17cm...

    Problems after hardware upgrade

That small amount of voltage would not really make a difference in the long run. Consider it an overclock

Program (besides iTunes) to play M4Ps?

I can personally say, that isn't true (at least in my case). Like most people, I too dislike DRM, so I burn my iTunes purchased songs and then rip them to mp3 format. Works flawlessly.

i need to improve my internet connection

Firewall performance can also slow down browsing and network speed. If you have one, try disabling it and see what you get.

OCZ GameXstream 700W in this comp?

Unless your SLI'ing that 8800GTS, I'd be shooting a little lower on the wattage side. Nevertheless, it will do the job fine. I haven't heard anything bad about that particular PSU as of yet. Other good chices would be the Seasonic 650W S12Energy+ or the Corsair HX520W or HX620W if you want to go...

    F.E.A.R Extraction Point Graphics

The difference between the two games (on my rig anyway) are only 3-7FPS on 12x10 res, but that loss was easily regained by overclocking a little. If anything, the lighting is improved a little. But I guess that's the price you pay for getting a freakier game.

    Hard drive help

Everything will work fine. But, please note, the eVGA motherboard your looking at only supports one ATA channel. Meaning, you will have to run your HDD on the same channel as your optical drive.

In its first introduction to Microsoft's new operating system, Kaspersky Lab has announced support for Windows Vista in its Anti-Virus 6.0 and Internet Security 6.0 personal software products. Kaspersky today introduced the beta version of Maintenance Pack 2 for the two software titles, which...

Open up the News Articles and Comments Forum to All users

I selected the wrong poll option. My vote should have been for "Yes, I Think the news forum to should be opened." I also agree that it will need to be moderated, however. If the Admins and Mods feel the extra work is not necessitated, I'm sure the News Crew, including myself will help out.

Video Card Sales Down More Than 12%

Just a few days before the official release of Windows Vista, which many consider an important factor to convince PC users to upgrade to better graphics hardware, a market research firm says that graphics cards sales have slowed significantly in the first three quarters of the year. According...
