I think I have installed an incorrect memory on my motherboard. It continues to crash occasionally despite running memory checking software to check for faults. I’ve written a few threads and the advice given has (slowly) allowed me to rectify the crash problems.
The memory used is the Kingston KVR400X64C3A/512 (x 2). Now reading up about RAM I note that Asus recommend the KVR400X64 memory but in a 2.5 latency. As you can see, I am using 3 latency (whatever that is?) - Ooopps.
Can anyone tell me what I should do here? Is there a way I can get the board to run a CL3 at 2.5? If not, should I buy a 512mb stick and if so which is the best for this Asus board?
While it may not fly with your config, I’d still keep that Kingston around. It can still be of use for a setup not requiring the RAM to run at PC3200 speeds. Or you can always sell it and recoup some cash.
