I’m looking to get two of the same vid cards for a double hook up, but don’t know which to go with…

Are there any other cards that you would recommend..

If you want to hook up multiple graphics cards (sli or crossfire), that means you’re a serious gamer. So I would suggest to use SLI with 2 Geforce 8 cards, because they support DirectX 10.

DirectX10? When games with full support of DX 10 will be released, this SLI setup will choke up (ATI crossfire would be much better if you want to get double).

So, if you dont have enough money to go for at least HD2900XT, better look for a single DX9 card. For example 7950 GT or 1900XT. You will be running well on this for some time.

hmm im looking at the ATi Radeon x1950 Pro 256mb PCI-Express x16 Video Card, does anyone have this card, would you recommend it, it costs around 150 on ebay

SLI is only supported with nVidia chipsets, whereas Crossfire runs on ATi and Intel chipsets, and there’s speculation AMD may allow CF on nVidia chipsets too. It comes down to a chipset lock in the drivers, but until things really open up, you’ll need to base your motherboard on which technology you want to go with first.

yea ive just got a Sapphire Radeon X1950XT 256MB PCI-Express for $125 (hehe), decided to go with the crossfire way
