my friend made me a movie (ahem) in dvd format onto a DVD-R disk trouble is the drive does not like the disk at all you put the dvd in it clunks (focus scan thingy) and spins, then slows down again so just gives up on reading
the dvd is Datawrite DVD-R 8x disks, i know its not the disks coz ive used them before on the same disks, i have 2 dvd drives and none of them read the disk (but work fine on me old dvd player)
is there a program out there that will force-read the disk or do a checkup of errors
DVD players and PC drives read disks differently, DVD players assume there is only 1 “Session” (DVD written at once) but PC drives assume that a “multi session” disc could exist, that about the limit of what i know, does it happen with any other discs, cos drives use different lasers to burn & read, it may work if you clean the disc, DVD-r discs don’t last forever, just have your film reburned to another disc, as SlashAnger surgested
