Dimension 3000 Memory Upgrade

Good day all,

I own a Dell Dimension 3000 circa late 2005. I am looking to upgrade the memory but the Dell support website has been less than forthcoming when I tried to find out what kind of memory originally shipped with the computer. When I look up the configuration online, all that is listed for memory is:

DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY MODULE, 256, 400M, 32X64, 8K, 184

From this somewhat vague description, can someone give me some insight into what kind of memory I should be looking at? A general description would be great but if you have any brand name suggestions I’d take those as well.

Thanks!

Your computer holds a max of 2 gigs of RAM (2 slots, 1 Gig per slot) of pc3200. I would personally recommend you shop at Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more! for the ram and get some Kingston or Corsair. And for the record, I use crucial.com to check all of that information I gave you. So in the future, I’m sure that site can be helpful to you.

Thanks for the info Fred. It is greatly appreciated.
