DVD RW Problem !!!!!

hi guyz.. i seem to be in a little fix. i have been using a Samsung(TSST)
DVD RW Drive without any problem for the past 6 months. I could keep burn
the image of a DVD and do other taskes simultaneously. But of late, The DVD-RW Drive isn’t workin as before. It’s takin 30 min to burn a DVD tat required only 10 min before and the system seems to terribly slow down during the process.I cannot, as before, burn an image and do other tasks simultaneously…
HELP ME !!!

My Sys Config is
AMD AThlon 64 3000+
1 Gig RAM
GeForce 6200 (256MB)
Samsung DVD-RW (TSST corp TS-H552U)

The Drive however seems fine while simply reading DVDs or CDs…

run a good AV (like Avast)& spyware (like Ad-Aware) in safe mode (if OS is XP) or you may need to reinstall OS

Go to the device manager, and then click on your drive. go to properties, and in one of the tabs, there should be an option for enabling DMA. Check that DMA is enabled.

Yea when i burn stuff i too get extreme slow down all the time, i dont see any DMA anywere in the Properties though.

check this

I couldent find it, found a guide for Windows Vista, DMA is enabled for all ym HDD’s and devices allready.

try this attachment to check if DMA is enabled

It is enabled, it said, just its different than Windows XP.

uninstall your drive from device manager then reboot, and good ol XP will automatically reinstall it (in theory)[ot]can’t think of owt else, let you know if i do[/ot]

How will XP Install it when XP is no existant untill tommorow on my PC :stuck_out_tongue:
