Yeah. I’m surprised we didn’t have one up before, but we really didn’t think about it until it was mentioned as part of the suggestions. Why not, we have about everything else available in the forums, so why not music.
Personally, I’m into rock/metal mostly…really a far cry from No Doubt that I used to listen to heavily. I’ll listen to some hip-hop/rap, but for the most part, it’s not really something I dig (which is probably just as well since I’m a pastey-white male).
I’m pretty much white. I’ve got 1/64th black in me but it doesn’t really show. Well it does being I have a natural nack for rythms. I listen to fantasy metal(dork metal)/death metal/dark rock/trance/gothic industrial/techno. Like Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Symphony X, Static X, Gwar, Tenacious D, Stratovarious, Sonata Arctica, Rammstein, Primus, Dimmu Borgir, Amon Amarth, In Flames, and last but certainly not least, AyUMI HAMASAKI!!!
Hey!!!..you guys don’t even have my category up there…I come from the album generation…and i’m not talking about eighties vinyl…I’m talking about when artists had to have a hit single before they were even allowed to produce an album…when 45’s were as thick as the old 78’s…
groups like the yardbirds..iron butterfly..ugly ducklings…willipus walapus…zombies..marvin gaye…edwin starr..etc… :good:
you wanna check out the first record ever “bleeped” ..check out the song " brainwashed " by david clayton thomas and the bossmen ( he later started the group " blood, sweat and tears ")…
it was ironically a song about “censorship” and the vietnam war and he had the bleep put in himself..because he was already informed that it wasn’t going to go to print without it
Since we have a music forum now, does anybody know of a good site to listen to free streaming music? Shoutcast is OK, but the stations tend to loop fairly short playlists (almost like FM stations!).

Hey, not bad. There’s also epitonic.com, but out of 20 songs I listened to there, I only liked maybe one…
Magnatune.com! Finally, a diamond in the rough. Check 'em out. Their motto is “We’re not evil!” (as opposed to the record industry). Artists get 50%! Free streaming! Sorted by genre! …Sweeeeeeeet. :good:

DAMN that’s a hard one to know. I’ll be DAMNED if I know it.
I like anything that sounds good but not straight rap or stuff that doesn’t make sense or really old stuff. I like some stuff thats smooth and easy on the ears. But being 80% geek i don’t listen to music channals or any of the new bands.

DAMN you’re good…if I didn’t know better I’d bet you were almost as DAMN old as I am!!! :good:

I detect a slight hint of sarcasm… must be your cologne?
Being a new-ish member of HF I was delighted to find this thread
and then I found nobody has posted for ages so hope it is ok if I revive it
My favourite music is R&B, Rock, MOR , 60s and 70s music.
Quite a few of these artists/musicians are still doing tours even
though many of them are OAPs And the music is as good as ever!
Some I can think of at the moment - and I am sure many others can be added-
Status Quo, Manfreds, Hollies, Georgie Fame and my all time favourite Alan Price
